Get to know me
I am currently mentored by Lisa Bates, Director of Chelsea and Westminster Swimming Club who is also a Great Britain national swimming team coach. I have supported her in training sessions and taken sessions myself, where national and international swimmers such as Amy Wilmot and Michael Gunning have been involved.
I also hold HSE First Aid at Work, REP’s Level 2 Fitness Instruction and ASA (QCF) Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics and Safeguarding children in the aquatic environment. These are qualifications which ensure participants are safe, knowledgeable and make progress. My other sporting qualifications are Metafit Training, F.A Level 1 Football Coaching and Wheelchair Basketball Instructors level 1.
My current role at Bannatyne’s Health Club is as a duty manager with responsibility for staff management, opening and closing of the centre, accounting, health and safety, first aid, customer relations, fitness instruction, delivering personal fitness programmes and class instruction. While there I have established very successful swimming classes which include adult groups and one to one sessions. During my time working in the city as a swimming instructor I have also worked with adults for multiple organisations which provide swimming classes in a variety of venues including hotels.
I have particular skills in athlete development and technique analysis and have worked as the Deputy Head Coach and teacher at the National London Aquatics Centre (Queen Elizabeth Olympic pool).
